Before You Go: Weekend Trailers and Reviews 01.29.10

We skipped Before You Go last week, primarily due to a packed schedule. Secondarily, because all of last weekend’s major releases sucked. Yes, there are plenty of posts out in bloggy world that say January is not the cinematic wasteland of its reputation, but I say it’s damn close. Clearly, it’s been the perfect atmosphere for Avatar to continue topping the weekly box office.
Anyway, on to this weekend. For you US readers, here’s what’s out: Mel Gibson’s return (in press interviews I’ve heard, he pretends not to be a Jew hater, hmm…) and an oddly marketed romantic comedy with Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel (a rhyme!), two stupidly good-looking actors. (Note: scores accurate as of 6am ET, Jan. 29)

When In Rome

Wow, looks like that Mark Steven Johnson (When in Rome) fellow needs to be forced into retirement.
