How pathetic is this!
Apparently, Fox Network will be overwhelmed with creativity by viewing a BORAT –like show. Seriously, who likes these shows? Why don’t you make a show about a monolingual American (from Arkansas) going to a different country (France one must suggest) and asking to eat McDonalds all day long until he explodes of being overweigh. Oh yeah, don’t forget to mention that he is a child molester… Stop making fun of other countries, US is the worst so far.

Hi Norm,

It sounds like they are bitting on the same nail over and over. Anyway, The child molester comment had to do with the fact that recently I read an article on an albanian newspaper ( surprise surprise I can read Albanian, there fore I must be Albania:))where some either british or american bible study volunteers sexually abused children in Albania ( and some more). Anyway, my point is that this shows are not funny. I did nwatch borat and everthing was predictable since he is just doing everything opposite to common sense and somehow that is how american portray Third world countries. I think is sends the wrong message and if it has the hidden message somehow it is too deep for the “common people ” to reach it.

I would like to appologise ot Arkansas:)

I don’t understand why do we need to spend time watching this rediculus shows, instead of doing something productive. Eeven sleeping qualifies as more productive than watching BORAT, which by the way was all scripted.

I like sleeping as much as the next guy, but I really enjoyed Borat. If it’s too deep for the “common people” (and you might be right), I don’t care. One of the great things about art or writing is that you never have a responsibility to talk “down” to your audience. And I’m glad Sacha Baron Cohen doesn’t.

Thanks for explaning the child abuse comment. I’m not too sure where it fits in, but I see what you were thinking of.

And hey, from my point of view, you don’t have to apologize to Arkansas. We come from Massachusetts and don’t much care. Oh, wait a minute, that sounds just like a dumb American…

I’m assuming you’re talking to the creators of the show? We don’t like the idea either — at the very least, for humor’s sake — but no one should be shot over a TV show, even a tasteless, offensive one. If indeed this one will be tasteless and offensive. At this point it just seems uncreative.

This is such a rip off, no one is going to go for this show. Albania is in the heart of the Mediterranean, on the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, Albania is fast becoming one of the world’s most interesting getaways. Albanian history and culture is fascinating. Butrint, one of the world’s archeological wonders - and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Albania is not a country to be made fun off.

As you can see, a couple of other Lobby readers agree with you. I can’t imagine most American TV viewers are going to know (or care) where Albania is. It’ll probably just be a throwaway fact about the character.

We haven’t seen any update for this project — I’d guess that’s because of the WGA writers’ strike, and the general standstill of new “non-reality” material.
