You know what they say, everybody has an opinion. Often times, in the world of documentary films, everybody has a cause. So many in recent years, that it’s tough to sift through them all. Economic problems. Government corruption. Environmental issues. (Boy, are we in trouble.) It can be a crowded category out there — a quick count shows at least 25 docs scored 2010 theatrical releases — so it’s worth pointing out those films that have buzz for elevating their thinking into a good movie. Even if you’re not into inspiring an eating revolution, Forks Over Knives might get your attention. The film’s trailer alone has enough intriguing soundbites to make you put down those fried mozzarella sticks.

Forks Over Knives is currently rated “Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, with 76% fresh reviews from 29 critics (an average score of 6.6); on Metacritic, the film receives a 57, with seven of the 18 reviews categorized as “mixed.”

Regardless, the marketers of Forks Over Knives have been pressing the press for weeks, even distributing the latest video from the group Vegan Meal Time, who attempt to infuse their eating politics with some renegade humor (eh).

Hey, next time you’re hungry for a McDonald’s Big Mac, just pair Forks Over Knives and Food, Inc. for an I’ll-Never-Eat-That-Again double-feature. Mmm…
