ENTOURAGE Season 6, Episode 11-12 Review
By Norm Schrager at October 7, 2009 | 11:50 pm | Print
As season 6 comes to a close for the foursome from Queens, it’s apparent that Entourage creator Doug Ellin and staff know how to wrap up a storyline — and get the hell on to the next one.
:: In Episodes 77 & 78 (the season finale), Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) pees his pants during an audition (yo, Dean Cain!), quits acting, quits his quitting, and knocks his second-chance reading for Melrose Place out of the park… only to not get the job. (Hope you caught Doug Ellin as the Melrose director).
:: Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) admits to messing around with the sorority girl, then denies it, then decides to ignore Jamie’s pleas for them not to stay together… only to be brutally disappointed after a 14-hour flight to New Zealand.
:: As for Eric (Kevin Connolly)… okay, I usually give Entourage the benefit of the doubt when it comes to story development. The show’s a comedy, it’s a barrel of laughs, and the proceedings have to keep moving. I think that’s a tough accomplishment, especially after 77 episodes.
But E’s storyline tidied up faster than a hotel maid working on commission. It’s the weak link of season 6: Why would Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui) ever agree to Eric’s proposal? We don’t know enough about her character to buy it. Frankly, we don’t know enough about Eric’s devotion to Sloan to understand his point of view either.
:: Perhaps the greatest punctuation of Season 6 is the ever-evolving life of Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven_. With the re-introduction of Terrance — and then his abrupt goodbye — Ari becomes the king of the L.A. talent agencies, finally gaining vitriolic revenge over his sworn enemy. But, of course, even with a paintball gun in hand, Ari Gold is able to listen to his heart and mend a couple of fences. Lloooooyyd!!!

:: And to cap off the season: A wildly ad-libbing Matt Damon screaming, cursing and freaking over his cell phone. A great job, a big laugh. But if Damon is going to list Vince’s crappy movies, how the hell did he forget Medellin?
Thanks for checking us out regularly during the Entourage season. Hope you enjoy some of our other stuff here at the Lobby… And we’ll be back for Season 7.

So good! I was cracking up through this whole episode. Ari getting off the elevator with the paintball gun? Hilarious!
I like the way it wrapped up with Sloan…but kind of wanted to see a full-on Ashley freak out.

I think the Sloan wrap-up was weak — really, my only issue with the entire season. Lacked motivation of any kind since we don’t know much about Sloan’s feelings for Eric. Yeah, they puttered around it all season to keep the pair in contact, but it wasn’t enough.
The paintball scene was classic. The morning after the episode aired, a buddy emailed me the dialogue where Ari “shoots” the agent representing Jon and Kate. Nice.
