Meet In The Lobby

Lobby reader Mike H. clued us in to new production on The Surrogates, the Bruce Willis-led adaptation of Robert Venditti’s sci-fi graphic novel (left).  

In the film, we humans have become homebodies for good, sending “surrogate” robot types out to do our damage on the world. Bruce Willis plays a cop (again) forced to leave his house to investigate robot murders. Where’s Will Smith?

The cast and crew have been around Massachusetts since May, and are taking care of second-unit stunt stuff this week. The crew has been overheard lovingly calling the production “The Circus”, as they plan to shoot a helicopter chase scene in a mill complex next week.

Here’s an image from this week’s shoot, courtesy a local paper. Not too exciting, but we get the point.

Here are more details on The Surrogates:

DIRECTOR: Jonathan Mostow, loving the sci-fi robot world (obviously) after his excellent command of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

CAST: Badass Ving Rhames. Badass Radha Mitchell. British beauty, and Doom sufferer, Rosamund Pike.

WRITERS: Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato, Mostow’s boys on T3, and the writing team for the upcoming Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.
