If you’ve seen Todd Haynes’ earlier films, you probably wouldn’t peg his work as “Oscar friendly.” The sexual shock of Poison, the off-putting rhythms of Safe… even his infamous breakthrough, Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story, a short film using Barbie dolls to prove a point.

But with Far From Heaven and the unique Bob Dylan biopic I’m Not There, Haynes has practically hit the award-friendly mainstream (wink).

Now, you can enter to win a DVD copy of the two-disc collector’s edition of I’m Not There, ready to hit stores May 6.

I’m Not There was simply one of the most beloved films of 2007. The entire cast — including the late Heath Ledger — was recognized at the Independent Spirit Awards and Cate Blanchett was recognized by just about every organization, including the Oscars, with a Best Supporting Actress nomination. (For the record, Blanchett won or was nominated for 15 awards in playing Bob Dylan.)

    This is an example of films that people should see. Every actor brings a realistic quality to each phase of Dylan’s life and career, especially Cate Blanchett, and the late, great heath Ledger. This is a must own collector’s item for every Dylan fan, including me.
