For many, Jack Kerouac is the king of the Beat Generation. After writing “On the Road,” Kerouac became a legend. But what happened next? A desperate escape to solitude in a cabin in Big Sur. Then, the result was a new novel. Now, the legacy is a combination DVD and CD: One Fast Move or I’m Gone: Kerouac’s Big Sur. The DVD documentary is by director Curt Worden. The standout soundtrack is by the new duo (below) of Jay Farrar (Son Volt) and Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie).
