Before the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, yes, I did believe interest in the aging Indy was being overestimated. I was wrong.

Now in its 14th week of release, the Steven Spielberg action-adventure has grossed $315 million in the U.S., making it the third biggest movie of the year (Iron Man has earned $317 million). Crystal Skull has also been embraced overseas, with about $461 million in receipts… so you’re looking at about 3/4 of a billion bucks in theaters. And another Harrison Ford monster hit.

While we don’t yet have a DVD to give away, we do have the John Williams-composed soundtrack. Come on, the guy’s been nominated for over 40 Oscars. (I lost count.)

Yeah, this is kind of late in the whole scheme of Indy excitement… we think the promoters may have thrown us a bone while the film’s still in theaters.

    My son is autistic. Years ago, I realized that the only music he wanted to listen to were soundtracks. It took me a while, but I finally realized that it was because if he had seen a movie and then listened to the soundtrack, it gave him something to picture or connect with while listening. Well, he’s crazy about the Indiana Jones movies. I fell in love with John Willimas when I wtched the first Star Wars movie in the theater. (How many years ago? Yipe!) So, of course we want this cd!     Been an armchair archeoloogist since the 8th grade. I am a classical and orchestral music buff. We are as a family addicted tothe Jones anthology and John Williams’ work(both in and out of the theater). Not only would the CD be given a good home, it would probably be overworked–Williams music has a lift which stimulates activity .
