“He’s Just Not That Into You” Begins Production
Fans of relationship comedies can now add He’s Just Not That Into You to their 2008 movie wish list (added to Sex and the City of course). The film version of the Greg Behrendt-Liz Tuccillo book just started shooting this week in L.A.
THE CAST: A string of beautiful women, just waiting to rip on men and get their hearts broken — Ginnifer Goodwin (“Big Love”), Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore — and a bunch of guys including Ben Affleck, Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard), Bradley Cooper (Wedding Crashers, The Comebacks), Kevin Connolly (“Entourage”) and Kris Kristofferson (what the hell is he doing here)
THE STORY: Mutiple plotlines about people who… well, doesn’t the title say enough? No big surprise that Tuccillo, the book’s co-author, wrote for ”Sex and the City.” The script’s by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein (the very sweet, funny Never Been Kissed).
THE DIRECTOR: Ken Kwapis (License to Wed, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, occasional exec producer on “The Office”)
Barrymore and partner Nancy Juvonen are producing and they’re off to a strong start — Fever Pitch (A perfect world where love of the Red Sox meet love & sex), both Charlie’s Angels movies — so this one will probably be above-average for the genre.
