IN TREATMENT Countdown: Season 2 Begins 4/5
By Norm Schrager at March 19, 2009 | 12:27 pm | Print
The countdown has begun for the anticipated second season of In Treatment, and its new lineup of troubled souls. As many of you know, Sunday, April 5 at 9pm is the time for the premiere episode — make that episodes, as the Season 2 schedule will differ from last year’s daily airings.
This season, premiere runs for all five weekly episodes will get squished into two evenings, Sundays and Mondays.

The “Monday” and “Tuesday” patients, played by Hope Davis and Milk‘s Alison Pill, will air back-to-back on Sundays; the “Wednedsay” and “Thursday” patients, played by young Aaron Shaw and veteran John Mahoney, and the now-famous “Friday” meetings between Gabriel Byrne and Dianne Wiest, will run back-to-back-to-back (whew) on Mondays at 9pm.
Check out the In Treatment Season 2 trailer now on HBO.com
We’ve previously offered some quick character summaries, but here’s what to expect in Week One. Mostly setup stuff, as you already know.
:: Mia (Hope Davis)
She’s a malpractice lawyer, and a subpoena served to Paul reunites the pair.
:: April (Alison Pill)
She’s an architecture student suffering from cancer… a fact she’s keeping secret from her parents.
:: Oliver (Aaron Shaw)
He’s a troubled sixth-grader brought to Paul by his soon-to-be-divorcing parents (Russell Hornsby, Sherri Saum).
:: Walter (John Mahoney)
He’s a power player in the business world, suffering from anxiety. (Take two Valium and call me in the morning…)
The directors for the season premieres:
:: Paris Barclay (director of a dozen In Treatment episodes in Season One)
:: Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson, the upcoming Sugar)
:: Terry George (Hotel Rwanda)
