More Sex! “Sex and the City” Movie On the Way

Sex and the City Will Hit Big Screen

Looks like a very popular HBO series will hit the big screen. No, not the HBO series you really want to see in theaters. (Not yet, anyway…)

After assorted rumors and false starts, there will be a film version of the super-trendy “Sex and the City,” according to a Variety report. Production may begin this fall.

THE CAST: All of them! Well, all the women: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. As for Chris Noth’s Mr. Big and other assorted players on the “sex” periphery? Time will tell as deals get made.

THE DIRECTOR: Michael Patrick King. This will be his big-screen directorial debut after helming 10 episodes of “Sex” (he exec-produced the show) and four episodes of Lisa Kudrow’s failed “The Comeback.”

THE PLOT: Too early to tell. I’m guessing something about career aspirations, romantic aspirations, griping about getting older, and jokes about the workings of the female genitalia.

QUESTION: If you’re a “Sex” fan, what should the storyline be? Will you see this movie? TELL US

i think it should be right when the show left off, to capture that moment and to be able to fall right back into place where it belongs..

    Hi Nela-

Sounds like a great idea — if the players that made up that final episode can be available for the movie.

    See you again.

The plot should be that the four “girls” meet four younger girls to “train” in the ways of being wild women in the city, and then the four younger girls prove that they’ can be even wilder and sluttier, and totally embarrass the shit out of the four older girls, making them seem like prudes.

You know, that’s not so far off the mark for the show. And if the filmmakers were so proud of being risque, why not amp it up on the big screen? They would have to add in some relationship element though… the girls were always good at either screwing those up or taking them for granted.

    Best idea I’ve heard yet.

I think that Sex and the City (I call it Sex IN the City to make my girlfriend mad) is to girls as the Star Wars franchise is to boys: It takes place in a fantasy world, terrible dialogue, and the fans LOVE the show. Also, instead of litesabres, the ’sex’ girls use lipstick thingys.

And sometimes those lipstick thingys aren’t really lipstick. They just look like lipstick thingys. Jeez, that had to already have been a sight gag in at least one episode of this show.
