MOVIE POSTER MONDAY: Stephen King’s “The Mist”
We shared our preview of The Mist during Labor Day weekend, and now I hear a little buzz building. So, here’s our latest poster encounter with this Stephen King adaptation.
First, notice the most unnecessary aspect of any Stephen King-based movie poster: The line “Stephen King’s Legendary Tale of Terror.” Yeah, they’re all legendary, we get it. This has probably been on every King movie poster since Firestarter. (Okay, not really but you get my point.)
“Fear Changes Everything.” Really? I thought money changed everything. No matter, if the movie can be this mysterious (or “misterious”, hah!) it may be a nice surprise, as well as a shot in the arm for ex-golden boy Frank Darabont.
For those of you who may not know, this image would be from inside a supermarket, where frightened survivors take refuge against a mist containing some sort of homicidal creatures. A scary, intense, Lord of the Flies adaptation would be outstanding. Let’s hope Darabont’s script doesn’t feel instead like a bad episode of Jericho.
