Welcome to our new weekly feature, Movie Poster Monday.
It’s self-explanatory.

Our part-wisdom, part-wiseass buddies over at the The Rec Show turned me on to the preview poster for The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. Long title. Cool poster.

The Assassination of Jesse James Movie PosterPretty unorthodox approach for a teaser poster: No images, no logos, no faces. Just a great design that screams gritty western. 

With that kind of approach, we can’t really blame Warner Brothers for putting Brad Pitt’s name front and center. Hell, if you think about it,”Brad Pitt” sort of sounds like the real name of some cowboy outlaw…
“Brad Pitt and the Pitt Gang”? No? Maybe not.

The Assassination of Jesse James … and so on opens in limited release on September 21.

    I loved this poster … unfortunately they have replaced it with a new one that showcases Brad Pitt’s genetically-blessed features.

    Warm, foreboding design and, of course, the DNA-favored Pitt, as you mentioned. A River Runs Through It meets A Walk In The Clouds.

    Hey cool - parts of that movie were filmed in my city (Winnipeg) - the “gritty” poster certain captures the spirit of downtown Winnipeg, if nothing else.

    Brad pitt is pretty good looking yes.. though it seems his face is turning into a leather saddle…
