Movie Poster Monday: THE ORDER OF MYTHS
In addition to the one-sheets and movie posters we receive from PR and studios, we troll our favorite sites for others to share. And I was thrilled to see this one right at the top of the IMP Awards. (click on the poster for a large version)
We first reported on The Order of Myths last November, as part of our Sundance Film Festival Top Ten Films to Watch. It ended up a Grand Jury Prize nominee in the documentary category (see, we know what we’re talking about sometimes).
The Order of Myths is written and directed by Margaret Brown — the follow-up to her debut Be Here to Love Me: A Film About Townes Van Zandt – and it’s best described as a tale of two cities. One is Mobile, Alabama Mardi Gras for whites. The other is Mobile, Alabama Mardi Gras for blacks.
While the city government is well integrated, Fat Tuesday celebrations most certainly are not. And that’s just the way the participants want it, and have wanted it since 1703.
The Order of Myths is scheduled for a limited release July 25, 2008.
