Movie Poster Monday: Tim Robbins in NOISE
If you live in a big city, maybe you can relate to Tim Robbins’ character in the aptly named dark comedy Noise. Robbins plays a NYC resident fed up with the corrosive cacophony of New York — so he goes full blown, up-in-arms, vigilante crazy. (click the poster for super big version)
Is Robbins screaming in mental pain and, if so, isn’t he just adding more noise? The poster’s got a good intensity, with a little revolutionary feel. Reminds me of the movie poster for the Robert Downey, Jr. documentary The Last Party.
Anyway, Noise is directed by Henry Bean, who made a hell of a debut with The Believer, the Ryan Gosling based-in-truth Nazi drama that won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance — and missed out on a decent theatrical release because of some waaaaay uptight clergy. Okay, uptight rabbis, to be precise.
Noise appeared in a couple of film festivals in late 2007, and will get a limited US release on May 9.
