Movie Poster Monday: ZOHAN, MONSTER CAMP
By Norm Schrager at May 5, 2008 | 4:51 pm | Print
Today we have two films from opposite ends of the marketing spectrum, but with one aspect in common: the overused “Save the World.” As if the TV series Heroes didn’t kill that phrase once and for all…
First, this remarkably disturbing movie poster for Adam Sandler’s You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (see our early preview coverage). The writing team is top-shelf — Sandler, Robert Smigel, Judd Apatow — but we’re wondering if we’ll be adding this to the sad list of failed hairdresser comedies (Blow Dry, anybody?)
Next is the movie poster for the documentary Monster Camp, a look inside the oddball world of Live Action Role-Playing games. This movie has been to more freakin’ film festivals than Roger Ebert (the most recent being Atlanta). Anyway, the artwork could not be more appropriate. Is that a 20-sided die in your pocket or are you just happy to see us?
(thanks IMP Awards, Jo Blo)
