Movie Preview, Trailer: THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE

The Time Traveler’s Wife Movie PosterI always thought the title “The Time Traveler’s Wife” was about as enticing as any you could put on a work of fiction.

And Audrey Niffenegger’s debut novel pays off its name: The Time Traveler’s Wife is funny, creative, romantic… a skillful combination of genres, with a bit of fun occasionally poked at each.

Now, the film adaptation has a fresh movie poster and trailer for your enjoyment.

The Time Traveler’s Wife Trailer

(Pardon Yahoo!’s ad following the trailer…)

That’s Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana in the lead roles, of course, both terribly easy on the eyes depending on your taste.

Based on the trailer, the film appears to be a metaphor for the instability of the family unit, or perhaps the insecurities that come with relationships. Either way, I’m wondering if The Time Traveler’s Wife will hold on to some of the same cheeky humor (not sappy, cheeky) as the novel.

:: DIRECTOR: Robert Schwentke (Flightplan) a filmmaker with quite the upcoming challenge: The screen version of Conspiracy of Fools, co-produced by Leonardo DiCaprio.

:: SCREENWRITER: Bruce Joel Rubin, the hottest writer in Hollywood in the early 90s with Ghost and Jacob’s Ladder; his last entry was the 2007 family fantasy The Last Mimzy. He tends to combine emotion with the supernatural quite, well, naturally.

:: EXTRA: Check out Audrey Niffenegger introducing the novel.

Nothing says Time Travel like two sexy people strewn across a movie poster sexily. But her wedding ring is clearly visible, so at least they got the “Wife” part covered.
