Not everyone gets Maher, but I think he’s as fearless as Carlin or Prior ever were. It can’t be easy to (almost always) represent the angry minority (marriage, children, war, energy, food), make it funny, get away with it, and still have friends on both sides of the aisle.

I always found it funny that he’ll represent the same people he’ll often ridicule (um, married couples with children). Especially because he’s not married and he doesn’t have kids — at least as far as he knows.
But I’ve bitched about this before. And I still dig the guy a lot.
