Trailer: NATION’S PRIDE
To you MITL readers who love the fake stuff — Entourage movie posters, made-up Tropic Thunder sites and posters — here’s a beauty of a fake to celebrate this week’s release of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.
The film: Nation’s Pride, or if you prefer, Stolz der Nation. It’s a Nazi propagandist piece featured in Basterds, the familiar film-within-the-film device. In real-life, Nation’s Pride was directed by Quentin’s buddy Eli Roth, director of Cabin Fever and Hostel (he also had a small role as one of the bar boys in Grindhouse). The lead actor you see in the Nation’s Pride trailer is Daniel Brühl, star of one of my personal favorites, Goodbye, Lenin!
Of course, this isn’t the first time Roth has directed a mini-project for Tarantino. Remember Grindhouse’s horrifically twisted trailer for Thanksgiving? That’s Roth. He even supplies the voiceover, cocky bastard. I mean basterd.
