Trailer Tuesday: BAGHEAD

The latest feature from the Duplass brothers, Baghead, opens this Friday in NYC and LA (wider on August 1st). This is the brother team who brought us The Puffy Chair, the hilarious story about the toll that delivering one puffy chair can have on personal relationships.

In the same vein, Baghead follows four twenty-something aspiring actor-writers who hole themselves up in a cabin for the weekend to write the screenplay that will put them all on the map. In that time, relationships are built and burned.
The film’s title refers to the premise of their screenplay — a guy with a bag on his head stalking a group of twenty-somethings. The four flesh out the Baghead concept from a bad dream one member of the group had… but somewhere along the way it becomes uncertain whether it was a dream at all.

The film is part funny, part scary and came about on the set of The Puffy Chair when someone asked “What is the scariest thing you can think of?” One response: A guy with a bag on his head staring into your window. Silly? Yes. Then again, I called a friend and his dog over for reinforcements the other night because I was totally freaked out by the illusion that someone was outside my window. From the trailer, it looks like Baghead definitely hits the creepy and the funny notes.
