Trailer Tuesday: THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON
You may have seen the trailer for this Oscar-potential drama before being enthralled / disappointed by Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is about a man who ages in reverse — born at 70 years old and ending his life as a baby… or a cell.
I’m not exactly sure how the movie will swing the ending, a conclusion that’s intentionally vague in the F. Scott Fitzgerald short story on which the movie is based. Guess it doesn’t matter when the visuals are this stunning:
Directed by David Fincher (Zodiac, Fight Club, Seven – yes, this is his 3rd film with Pitt) with a screenplay penned by Eric Roth (The Good Shepherd, Munich, and Forrest Gump, which got him an Oscar), we’ll see this in theaters December 19, 2008.
An interesting note: Benjamin Button was filmed in Louisiana to take advantage of the production incentives offered after Hurricane Katrina.
Also starring: Tilda Swinton (Burn After Reading, Michael Clayton), Julia Ormond (Inland Empire) , and little Elle Fanning (Phoebe in Wonderland, Babel).
