UPDATE: Mike Myers’ The Love Guru

Thanks to Lobby reader James, who wrote in with a production update on Mike Myers’ new comedy The Love Guru.

Toronto Maple Leafs, Stanley Cup Champions in The Love GuruAfter Wednesday night’s Toronto Maple Leafs’ home game, the Love Guru cast and crew shot what is reportedly the Leafs’ fictional Stanley Cup win. Our friend James hung around as a crowd extra, after suffering the Leafs real-life 7-2 preseason spanking to Buffalo.

QUESTION: Hey Toronto! Have you seen, or been a part of, The Love Guru production?  TELL US

CAST: Thanks to an IMDb update, we’ve got a better idea who’s playing who in the film. Mini-Me master Verne Troyer is Leafs coach, Coach Cherkov (say it out loud). Ben Kingsley is the enlightened Guru Tugginmypudha (say that out loud too). And Justin Timberlake plays hockey star Jacques Grande — glad to see Myers is willing to make fun of the Frenchies as much as Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.

THE DISAPPEARING GURU:  If you caught our early preview of The Love Guru, you may have seen a promo image of Myers playing his newest film creation. I say “may have” because you can’t find it now. After appearing on just a few sites — Meet In the Lobby and a couple of comedy club sites where Myers performed as Pitka — we were asked by Paramount to take it down. Our first cease and desist!

We get plenty of material sent to us, but not this one. We obliged and will happily wait til we receive the real goodies from Paramount.

    Hey…i’m one of the feature extras of The Love Guru. Im not so sure you’re going to get very much information from people involved with the film since we are obliged to keep our mouths shut until the film releases next year… but hey, if your question is simple maybe i can help you out.

    I’ve been on set for quite a few days. Got to see Mike, justin, Verne and Romany. One thing I want to say is that I’m very surprised at how Justin looked!!! hahaa….hilarious!! Gonna be on set tomorrow and the next few days again!

    I can’t wait to see this…how was it to work on set? how was mike m.? was the director nice? any premieres or parties in toronto nyc??? we need more scoop!!!
