Warner Says No Go on Justice League

Director / Producer George MillerHow will George Miller, one of the world’s more diverse directors, handle a universe full of superheroes? It’ll now be a while before comic fans find out in Justice League, and not even Superman can do that planet-spinning thing to make time go any faster.

This one’s interesting to more than just the Comic Con conniption type, primarily because of the able, creative hands of Miller (Mad Max, Babe: Pig in the City, Happy Feet). But the filmmaker won’t roll cameras on Justice League until late summer 2008 at the earliest, according to a Variety report. While awaiting tax breaks in Australia — where shooting was planned — and script fine-tuning, made difficult by the WGA strike, Warner has not renewed the options of its young cast.

While most are no-name newcomers, Adam Brody (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, In the Land of Women) was scheduled to star as The Flash. Now, all actors are available to take other work. And Justice League is on indefinite hold.
